Low Level Panic
February/March 2004

A graphic and distressing view of the world through the eyes of three women, this award winning play is fast becoming a modern feminist classic.

Recommended by LA Weekly and praised for its “strong ensemble work,” Forbidden Fruit’s production of “Low Level Panic,” by Clare McIntyre, took the Los Angeles theater community by storm.

The inaugural production directed by Adele Cabot, captivated critics and audiences alike as the play confronted issues of pornography, sexual violence and body image.

The play centers around three roommates who confront body image and male power from differing perspectives. Although they have very different views of the world one commonality is that —like the men they meet—they're obsessed with their bodies. Both ashamed of and preoccupied by their appearance, they are products of our pornographic society. “Low Level Panic” is alternately humorous and harrowing, but never simple.

Starring: Tonya Jones, Jenn Robbins & Angela Wiggins
