Tonya Jones : : Artistic Director
Tonya Jones is the Managing Artistic Director and co-founder of Forbidden Fruit Theatre Company. She began her acting career in New York and has appeared in a number of independent films, national commercials, off-Broadway and regional productions, including Key Exchange, A Raisin in the Sun, For Colored Girls, Pitched, and As You Like It.
 
A cum laude graduate of Howard University, Tonya previously worked as a consultant in the public relations field. In addition, Tonya has worked for a number of networks and independent production companies including CBS Sports, Fox News, The Discovery Channel, and Alexandria Productions. Tonya is also a former Film Independent Project Involve honoree.Tonya is currently a 3rd year MFA Candidate in Acting at Columbia University, where she was also honored with the Schubert Presidential Fellowship. In addition, Tonya has taught theatre classes in a number of Los Angeles after-school programs and was a teaching fellow at Columbia University’s Summer Institute, where she lead students in theatrical collaboration.




Angela Wiggins : Artistic Director
Angela Wiggins is the Producing Artistic Director and co-founder of Forbidden Fruit Theatre Company.  She began acting at an early age and has appeared in several independent films, national commercials and numerous stage productions, both off-Broadway and in regional theatre. A few credits include Medea, The Tempest, Anatol, A Raisin in the Sun, and Twelfth Night.  

A graduate of Harvard University with a B.A. in Economics, Angela worked in investment banking prior to making a full transition into the entertainment industry.   While a student at Harvard she studied with the faculty of the American Repertory Theatre.  She is also a graduate of the South Coast Repertory Professional Conservatory.

Angela is also a writer and filmmaker.  Most recently she was selected as a finalist and completed the CBS TV Writers Program. In 2005 Angela received a certificate in filmmaking from NYU. Her latest film "Home-Going Service" which she wrote and directed is currently doing the festival circuit and had its premiere at the Hollywood Black Film Festival.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Recently named Development Director of Hands On Bay Area, Sabrina Qutb has a diverse background in development and communications. At the Earned Assets Resource Network (EARN), Sabrina managed fundraising and corporate communications efforts, helping to expand EARN’s award-winning efforts to spark financial growth opportunities for low-wage workers. At the Los Angeles-based human rights organization Stop Prisoner Rape (SPR), Sabrina led development efforts that resulted in unprecedented growth for the organization, helping it to move from a small predominantly volunteer-run organization to a nationally recognized prisoner rights advocacy group. Sabrina has also worked as a magazine writer and on-line editor and has an extensive track record as a development and communications volunteer for nonprofits like Planned Parenthood, the ACLU, Amnesty International and the I Have a Dream Foundation, where she produced and directed a 30-second PSA for television. She holds a B.A. in Film Studies and English from Yale University.

Sherry Suisman has been teaching in the English Department at San Francisco State University since 1999. With an M.A. in English from San Francisco State University, she teaches a variety of writing and reading courses but has a particular interest in working with under- prepared students in courses that integrate reading, writing, and critical thinking skills. Sherry has also served as a faculty coordinator at the Learning Assistance Center, a skills-based multi-disciplinary campus tutoring center, helping train and support tutors and working with students in need. After graduating from Washington University with a B.A. in English and American Literature, Sherry worked for several women’s health organizations, including the National Abortion Federation in Washington, D.C., and as the logistics director for California AIDS Ride, a fundraising bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles from 1994 – 1996. She is a volunteer mentor with the I Have a Dream Foundation (San Francisco).
